Put-Outer
The put-outer is a small magical device about the size of a cigarette lighter. The put-outer is used for taking the light from an object. For example, Dumbledore uses the put-outer to take the light from the streetlights in Privet Drive. Mad-Eye Moody also uses this device to darken the lights in Grimmauld Place.

The Marauder's Map
The Marauders Map is an object which is used to locate people exploring Hogwarts and its grounds. The map shows all the secret passageways in Hogwarts, including the passage which leads into Hogsmeade. The map was created on an old bit of parchment by James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew in their Hogwarts school days. To activate the map, a person must say "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.". To clear the map, the user must say "Mischief managed".

Invisibility Cloak
The invisibility cloak can obviously be guessed by its name. Once this cloak is put on, the bearer becomes invisible. Harry Potter receives an invisibility cloak in his first year which once belonged to his father. An invisibility cloak are woven from the hair of the Demiguise and are soft and silky to touch. Other people who own an invisibility cloak include Mad-Eye Moody and the members of the Order of the Phoenix.

Mirror of Erised
The Mirror of Erised is a special kind of mirror that shows the person looking into it their greatest and deepest desire. The mirror is very tall and has a fancy gold frame. On the frame is the following inscription "Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi. If you read this backwards it says " I show not your face but your heart's desire". Harry finds the mirror in his first year at Hogwarts but Dumbledore re-locates it.

The Goblet of Fire
The Goblet of Fire is a special goblet which is used to decide the champions in the Triwizard Tournament. It is a large cup, filled with shimmering blue smokey flames. The goblet is stored in a large wooden case which is covered in jewels. The case is touched three times with a wand to remove the goblet. After the champions names have been decided, the goblet's contents fade away and only re-appear with the start of the next tournament.

The Philosopher's Stone
The Philosophers Stone is a powerful red stone which can bring the owner unlimited gold and immortality. There was only one known Philosophers Stone which was created by Nicholas Flamel. The stone is red, semi-transparent and shinny.

Remembrall
The Remembrall is a small object about the size of a snow globe. It is filled with white smoke and when you forget something the smoke turns a bright scarlet red. Neville receives a remembrall in his first year at Hogwarts as he is constantly forgetting things.

Tom Riddle's Diary
Tom Riddles Diary is an item of truly dark power. As a child, Tom Riddle placed many of his memories in this bewitched diary. The Diary appears blank to the read until a message is written. Tom Riddle would reply to the message and some of his thoughts could be viewed.

Pensieve
A pensieve is a special stone basin which can hold the thoughts of its owner. When looking into a pensieve, the view sees a cloud of silvery light. If you look deep into the basin you can be transported into its mists and view the owners thoughts. Dumbledore owns a pensieve and Harry uses it to see some of his thoughts during his fourth year.

Time Turner
A time turner is a small object used for travelling back in time. It looks very similar to an hourglass and can take you back one hour with each turn. Hermione uses a time turner in her fourth year to attend more classes. Harry and Hermione also use it to rescue Sirius and Buckbeak. Time turners are considered very dangerous because of the effects they can cause. They care carefully watched over by the Ministry of Magic, making sure that they are not being used in an inappropriate way.

Sneakoscope
A sneakoscope is a device which sends off a whistling noise when someone untrustworthy is around. Harry was given a sneakoscope by Ron. Moody (Crouch) also owns a large one which he keeps in his office.

Secrecy Sensor
A secrecy sensor is a small object that vibrates when evil is approaching. It is shaped like a big aerial and is used constantly by Moody.

Broomstick
Many different models offer varying degrees of speed, control and reliability.

Floo Powder
A user can use Floo Powder to transport him or herself from fireplace to fireplace.

Sorting Hat
It sorts incoming students into the appropriate houses based on their personalities.

Wand
Without a wand, a Wizard is virtually powerless.
